Lawyers of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan have been told by the authorities that their scheduled visit with their client cannot take place. The reason given for the denial refer to "bad weather conditions".

Lawyers Ömer Güneþ, Þakir Demir and Mizgin Irgat from the Asrýn Hukuk Office, have been talking with the navy gendarmerie commander for quite a long time before being dismissed with a denial due to bad weather conditions.

It cannot go unnoticed that the cancellation of the visit with Öcalan comes at a very sensitive time, considering that last night the Supreme Election Board has announce its decision to strip off Hatip Dicle of his mandate. Dicle has been elected a deputy for Diyarbakir while in prison, last 12 June.

The lawyers will now come once more to Bursa on Friday to try and visit Öcalan.
