A solidarity action with Kurdish hunger strikers was organized in Marseille. The hunger strike resistance has been launched to demand the end of isolation of against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Hundreds of people joined the protest promoted by the DKTM in Marseille.

Banners were carried by activists underlining that “Abdullah Öcalan is the name of the resistance for the while mankind” and “Freedom for Öcalan”. 

Today, Mehmet Kara said, “the peoples of Europe need to join this resistance. We call on the EU, the European Parliament, the CPT to act responsibly.”

And speaking on behalf of the DTM, Kemal Güler added: “These superficial approaches are not accepted.”

Demo in Bordeaux 

A march against isolation was also organised in the city of Bordeaux. 

In order to protest the isolation against the Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan and draw attention to the hunger strike resistance, Kurds and their friends living in Bordeaux gathered at Stalingrad Square.

Activists chanted slogans claiming freedom for Öcalan and handed over leaflets explaining the hunger strike resistance.
