Mayors for Peace Conference Ends

Juan Karlos Izaguirre, mayor of Donostia (San Sebastian) has closed this afternoon the international conference of mayors for peace in the Kursaal Palace.

He said he was pleased by its development and stressed the plurality of all the experiences that have been shared in the two days of the conference. "We have listened and learned and this will be valuable for the future", he remarked.

Making a balance of the conference, mayor Izaguirre said he was convinced that the international community "has much to contribute in building peace and coexistence".
He said the conference has offered three main ideas on which reflect: first, that "it is necessary for everyone to expose their dispute before the world, and to have that option is a mutual benefit".

Secondly he cited the time factor and stressed that "patience is also in this town".
Finally, the mayors roundtable showed that "you can collaborate with people from different backgrounds" and that "this is the way to go forward".

Izaguirre , who wished peace to all peoples of the world, has underlined he is "a little happier today after meeting you all" and stressed that "we have a little more energy to move forward with the commitment to work for peace and from the local conference".
