McGurk: Operation on Afrin risks giving life to ISIS
U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Global Coalition to Defeat Islamic State (ISIS), Brett McGurk said invasion operation by Turkish army on Afrin “risks giving life to ISIS”.
“#Afrin situation developed as we were leaving. US now engaged intensively to urge restraint and de-escalation,” McGurk tweeted.
“We are prepared to work with Turkey on legitimate security concerns, but prolonged operation risks giving life to ISIS as its on verge of defeat,” he added.
