Tens of thousands gathered for the funeral ceremony for Mehmet Karana, actor at Cizre Municipality's Mem û Zin Culture and Art Centre, who, together with his brother, YPG (People's Defense Units) fighter Ömer Karana, died in the suicide attack carried out by al-Qaeda linked al-Nusra Front in Tirbesbiyê on Saturday.

Karana family brought Mehmet's body to Cizre following an autopsy performed at Mardin State Hospital late afternoon.

Thousands coming from Mardin, Nusaybin, Silopi, Şırnak, İdil and Kızıltepe gathered in Cizre where Karana was buried in Asri Cemetery in the evening.
