Mesopotamia Cultural Center celebrates 20th anniversary

Mesopotamia Cultural Center (MKM), the first and most important cultural organization in Turkey in regard to Kurdish language, Kurdish culture and art performance, has reached its 20th year marked by repressions, prohibitions, heavy prices and martyrdom of its artists. The 20th foundation year of this history is celebrated in a big organization.

The MKM, which was established with the determination of Apê Musa, Feqî Huseyin Saðnýç, Ýsmail Beþikçi, Hogir, Sarya, Serhad and many others in years when even speaking Kurdish could be a justification of death, earned an indisputable memory to the Kurdish culture and continues for 20 years with the participation of tens of artists.

The great organization on 3 September 2011, which has already started to create excitement and is expected to be glorious, will take place in historical Seven Tower Dungeons in Kazýlýçeþme.

Þahiya Stranan,Mikail Aslan, Agirê Jiyan, Koma Çiya, Bandista, Koma Gûlên Xerzan, Koma Azad, Niyazi Koyuncu, Koma Asmîn, Vengê Sodirî, Koma Serhildan and Dîwana Dengbêja are scheduled to take the stage at the night which was primed by the efforts of Istanbul MKM director and artists. (F.D.)
