Turkish army has launched an operation on the South Kurdistan border on Tuesday evening.

According to the information received from local sources, Turkish army has reinforced troops along the border yesterday evening. The operation was launched after a large number of soldiers were deployed in the Tanyol area of Hakkari's Şemdinli district and on the border to Xakurkê region in Media Defense Areas.

Soldiers have been sent with helicopters to the areas of Hacıbey Brook (Rubarek serkem), Partesela, Berekeşke, Çimen Dağı, Çiya Kure Mızgevtan near Xakurkê region, and the Mezar Gediği, Tanyolu, (kelaşin) and Gedik Hill areas in Şemdinli.

Soldiers from the Tekeli-Gare Battalion are also joining the land operation.

The Xakurkê region is located between north, east and south Kurdistan.
