Mine explosion left casualties during the operation of the Iraqi army and Hashd al-Shaabi militia on al-Qaim city of Iraq’s Anbar province on the border with Syria.

Female journalist Rana El Uceyli lost her life and cameraman Muntazar Adil got heavily wounded as a mine exploded, hitting their car in al-Qaim.

According to the Journalistic Freedoms Observatory date, 7 journalists were killed and 11 others wounded in 2017 in Iraq, which remains one of the most dangerous countries in the world for journalists.
