The Maoist Communist Party MK / SB issued a written statement on 1 May, International Workers' Day of Unity, Solidarity and Struggle .

The statement said: "The Turkish state, which is part of the world imperialist system, is also a part of this crisis and is trying to overcome its crisis by turning the coronavirus pandemic into an opportunity.

The first measure brought by the government to counter the pandemic was to save its capital circles.

The fascist dictatorship is in an economic and political crisis. The pandemic has raised these crisis even more. In order to continue its war in Syria, Libya, Northern Kurdistan, South Kurdistan, the government needs resources to feed its own capital circle, orders, fascist reactionary formations."

The statement added: "The pandemic has once again demonstrated the true nature of the fascist state and the fascist AKP-MHP government to the widest sections of society.

Therefore, on 1 May everyone should use all the means and tools at their disposal to celebrate Workers' Day, chanting slogans and song from the balconies, without forgetting to organise a symbolic meeting in Taksim square. The pandemic may have limited living spaces but should not limit the spirit of resistance, solidarity and struggle of 1 May: every area of life should be turned into 1 May celebration areas."
