Six out of nine Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) members who were taken into custody in Doðubayazýt district of Aðrý on 11 June have been arrested and sent to Aðrý M Type prison on 14 June.
Doðubayazýt deputy mayor Ali Söðüt, municipality worker Yusuf Söðüt, BDP members Orhan Ebren, Abbas Karataþ, Ahmet Kaya and Þah Ýsmail Gültekin are accused of being members of Kurdish Communities Union (KCK) organization.
Separately, four BDP executives Orhan Gündüz, Ercan Erdoðmuþ, Ahmet Getiren and Mehmet Curan were remanded in custody on 14 June for allegedly making propaganda for an illegal organization on social networking sites. The executives of BDP Bursa organization were detained in Bursa on 11 June.
BDP PM Member Ayla Yýldýrým, HDK Provincial Executives Sevim Kaya, Semra Getiren and Ziynet Kanat were also arrested in Bursa on 13 June for allegedly being members of an illegal organization and making propaganda for an illegal organization.
On the other hand, nine university students, a teacher and a worker were taken into custody early Friday morning in Bitlis within the scope of an investigation by the prosecutor of Van 2nd High Criminal Court. Nine students and a worker were taken into custody as a result of simultaneous police raids in many houses and student residences in Bitlis.
Teacher Caner Özbay was taken into custody in Nusaybin and taken to Van within the scope of the operation.
