More than 20 detained in political genocide operations in four cities

More than 20 people including children and HDP and BDP politicians have been detained in ongoing political genocide operations in Adana, Van, Urfa and Hakkari.

ADANA

Police forces raided a number of houses in Dağlıoğlu, Gülbahçe and Barbaros neighborhoods in Seyhan district of Adana early this morning. 13 people including children have been detained in the operation on the grounds of “joining illegal demonstrations”. The detainees have been taken to Adana Police Directorate.

VAN

Police forces continued the raid operations in Adnan Menderes and Karşıyaka neighborhoods in Çatak district of Van this morning. HDP district administrator Mehmet Şirin and a civilian named Barış Keve were detained and taken to district police directorates. Both of the detainees will reportedly be referred to the anti-terror department of Van police directorate.

On the other hand, seven people detained in Çatak yesterday are still being held at the anti-terror department of Van police directorate.

URFA

In Ceylanpınar district of Urfa, HDP district co-chair Gülbahar Fidan was detained by police as a result of a house raid.

During the same hours, gendarme units also raided several houses in Lebena neighborhood and detained four people including DBP district administrator Ali Gültekin. The detainees have been taken to the District Gendarmerie Command.

In the meantime, former administrator of DBP district organisation Şeyhmus Çeri and three other people who were detained in the district on July 31 are still held at district police headquarters.

HAKKARİ

Police forces also conducted house raids in Hakkari city center in the early hours of the morning, and detained three people who were later taken to the police directorate.
