Mother resists in Pirsûs, son in Kobanê

Mekiye, whose son is fighting in the ranks of YPG (People's Protection Units) against the ISIS gangs, gives support to her son by singing songs to him by telephone. Another son of Mekiye also joined the YPG ranks some 20 days ago.

Mekiye is from Batman. For the last 10 days, she is taking part in the vigil held in support of the resistance in Kobanê in the Elîzêr village at the border of Pirsûs (Suruç) district of Riha (Urfa).

She says her son, after hearing that his mother was in the village, came closer to the border, where he could hear her voice, and asked her to sing songs for him.

The woman tells that her son always asks about the situation at the border when they talk via phone.

Mekiye, whose another son joined the YPG ranks 20 days ago, also laments for Harun from Amed who lost his life fighting in the ranks of YPG 50 days ago.

The mother, calling on all the people of Kurdistan to give support to the Rojava Revolution and the Kobanê resistance, says “Our honour lies in defending Kurdistan”.
