Mothers spent the night in Parliament

Mothers of prisoners on hunger strike continue their action at the Turkish Parliament.

Mothers of prisoners who have been on hunger strikes protesting the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan continue the sit-in they launched on Tuesday in the Parliament.

The mothers are demanding the meet the Minister of Justice.

After meeting with Parliament Speaker Mustafa Şentop the mothers ended the sit-in as Şentop promised that he would forward their request to the Minister of Justice.

However, the mothers did not leave the Assembly and spent the night in the HDP meeting room. The mothers spent the night talking and singing songs in Kurdish.

The mothers are expected to hold a press conference with HDP co-chair Pervin Buldan at 1:30 pm today.
