NAV-DEM organises series of demonstrations for Öcalan across Germany

NAV-DEM is organising a series of demonstrations for Öcalan's freedom across Germany this week.

Democratic Kurdish Society Center in Germany (NAV-DEM) is organising a series of demonstrations across Germany this week to protest the isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

NAV-DEM said in a written statement that concerns over Öcalan's situation are increasingly growing in the wake of the coup attempt in Turkey and the developments that followed.

NAV-DEM stressed that they cannot trust the statements of government officials regarding the situation in İmralı until Öcalan has access to his family, lawyers and independent delegations.

NAV-DEM called upon the international organisations and authorities to act immediately to relieve the concerns of the Kurdish people, to put pressure on Turkey and enable Öcalan's urgent meeting with his family and lawyers.

The statement underlined that joining the demonstrations for Öcalan means standing against the policies of the pro-genocide and pro-massacre mindset.
