Need for full investigation into U.S. intelligence on Roboski

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) deputies Hasip Kaplan and Ertuðrul Kürkçü spoke to ANF about the Wall Street Journal report published today. The report said the bombing of Roboski was carried out on the basis of intelligence provided by U.S. drones. BDP deputies pointed out that the responsible U.S. authorities should also be taken to court for the bombing which took the life of 34 civilians involved in small border trade on 28 December 2011.

Crimes against humanity cannot be subject to confidentiality, underlined Hasip Kaplan MP and called attention to the ‘imported intelligence’ used for the bombing of civilians.

Remarking that the WSJ news exposed the ‘wrong intelligence’ provided by U.S. authorities for Turkey, Kaplan underlined that all the responsible involved in the process should be subject to investigation by the prosecution office.

Mardin MP Hasip Kaplan said that the families of Roboski victims should use their right to act against the U.S. through their lawyers. An international investigation should be launched into the event, added Kaplan.

BDP Mersin MP Ertuðrul Kürkçü called attention to the U.S.-Turkey and Iraq intelligence share and said the followings; “While the General Staff is concealing the truths regarding this issue, we see that the event took place as a result of a mechanism that consists of first degree intervention by the governments of U.S., Turkey and Iraq.”

All those responsible should be taken to court, underlined Kürkçü and added that the U.S. authorities have already admitted that they are responsible for sharing intelligence with Turkey.
