Workers have made a new claim against Hey Textile. For 64 days now the workers are staging a protest against the dismissal of 420 colleagues. DIHA News Agency reported that Haþim Firik (43) who died as a result of a heart attack in the workplace was recorded as having died due to a car accident in the Social Security Institution (SGK) records. Firik’s family and friends claim that Hey Textile is responsible for the wrong recording and that Firik’s death was in fact a result of the firm’s neglect.
“My husband was not allowed to go to hospital while he was suffering from a heart attack. He was forced to wait until the end of his shift. The doctors in the hospital told me that my husband could have been saved if he had been hospitalized earlier,” tells Songül Firik. Two colleagues of Firik, Erhan Gayretli and Cemal Yýldýz, also confirm the neglect of the firm responsibles and say, “Haþim died under our eyes.” Gayretli also emphasizes that Firik died in the workplace and that a fake report has been prepared to vindicate the firm.
