New arrests in different cities

Twenty nine Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) members who were taken into custody in Urfa on 28 May have been brought to Diyarbakýr Court after bearing testimony to the Security Directorate of Urfa.

Detained BDP members, consisting of DTK members, City Council members, MEYA-DER members and BDP district chairs, are accused of “aiding and abetting an illegal organization” and “membership of an illegal organization”

Detainees are expected to be referred to the public prosecution office.

On the other hand, mass arrest operations of the AKP regime continue uninterruptedly in different parts of the country. Police raided many houses in Buca and Karabaðlar district of Ýzmir early on Thursday morning and detained five people, included two university students. The number of detainees is expected to increase.
