The seventh hearing of Istanbul KCK (Kurdish Communities Union) main trial has begun this morning in Silivri Prison Complex.
205 executives and members of the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) as well as academicians and students are tried by Istanbul 15th high Criminal Court in the scope of KCK Istanbul investigation.
The trial is attended by all of 140 arrested KCK suspects, excluding Mehmet Keleþoðlu, as well as six suspects tried without arrest.
The trial in Silivri is also attended by Tony Simpson, the spokesman of Bertrand Russell Peace Foundation, Paloma Valverde, coordinator of the Spanish antiwar organisation CEOSI, Prof. Patrick Deboosere from University of Brussels, Assistant Professor Ayça Çubuklu from London School of Economics and BDP deputy co-chair Filiz Koçali.
Chief judge Ali Alçýk announced early Thursday that the hearing will continue with the reading of the indictment in the morning and specification of demands in the afternoon. The hearing will end in the afternoon following the pronouncement of the court’s rulings.
