New protests against Iran at the border

BDP Þýrnak provincial and Cizre, Silopi, Ýdil, Uludere and Beytüþþebap district organizations continue their protest action at Esendere Border Gate in Yüksekova/Hakkari against the operations of the Iranian army in South Kurdistan. While the entrances and exits have been halted at the border gate due to the sit-in action. Demonstrators put up a tent at the entrance of the gate, Iranian and Turkish soldiers have been deployed in two sides of the border.

In a statement released in the early hours of the morning, Silopi Mayor Emin Toðurlu remarked that they have closed the entrance into Turkey for a week due to the operation by the Iranian regime. Toðurlu said; "With the disallowance of entrances into the country, our act has been successful in the first step and we will continue our act until Iran stops the operation."

While the statement was followed by slogans condemning Iran, life at the border gate came to a stopping point when the mass closed the way to traffic in company with slogans. Especially the vehicles of Iranians in Turkey fell in long lines at the borger gate.

Meanwhile, Iranian and Turkish troops bagan to be deployed on both sides of the border gate. While soldiers are trying not to be seen during the military build-up, the act continues without interruption.
