Civaka Azad co-chair Ahmet Zirek said that the 2024 Newroz celebration events will be organized by the assemblies in 5 cities of Austria, and called on everyone to join the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Solution to the Kurdish Question" initiative.

Kurds living in Austria are preparing to welcome the Kurdish national holiday Newroz with the slogan "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Solution to the Kurdish Question". Civaka Azad co-chairman Ahmet Zirek announced that this year's Newroz events will be organized by the organization’s assemblies in the capital Vienna, as well as in the cities of Innsbruck, Graz, Bregenz and Linz.

Zirek said: "Newroz is a historical, political, social and cultural event for the Kurds and the Kurdish Freedom Movement. It is a day of resistance with depth and meaning. It is also a freedom holiday where the fight against all kinds of slavery, oppression, oppression, genocide and assimilation policies is carried out. Kurdish people should go out and celebrate Newroz events in accordance with this historical meaning and content."

Zirek added that the Kurds living in Austria will celebrate Newroz 2024 in a manner that will be a response to the Turkish state's invasion and genocidal attacks against Kurdistan and the Kurdish people, and within the scope of the "Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Solution to the Kurdish Question" initiative launched on 10 October 2023. Zirek said: "We invite all our people living in Austria to attend the Newroz events."

A Newroz reception, torchlight march and rally will also be held in the capital Vienna as part of the events. The Newroz Reception will be held on March 19 at 18:00 at Wien Rathaus. The Torchlight Newroz march will be at Votivpark on March 20 at 18:00.
The Newroz festival, led by YXK, will be held on March 21 at 17:00 at Heldenplatz.
