Minister of Justice Sadullah Ergin denied allegations of a possible ‘general amnesty’. The possibility was mentioned by AKP Mardin MP Abdurrahim Akdað on 16 May within the scope of government’s alleged new program concerning the Kurdish problem. In a statement on the allegations, Minister Ergin underlined that; “This statement is a personal evaluation by our deputy as neither our party nor the government has this subject on the agenda”.
In a statement on Wednesday, MP Abdurrahim Akdað, who is one of the five AKP deputies recently making examinations in Kurdish regions on Prime Minister Erdoðan’s instruction, remarked that the subject of general amnesty could be brought to agenda in the event that PKK laid arms down. Akdað also said that around 250-300 executives of the organization, referring to PKK, could in this case go to third countries, while others could perform activities in the democratic environment.
Asked about the statements made by MP Akdað, Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdað also denied the presence of any works to be conducted in this respect.
