HDP's Oluç points out serious negligence in avalanche disaster

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Group Vice President Saruhan Oluç held a press conference at the Assembly regarding the avalanche disaster in Van Bahçesaray. 

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Group Vice President Saruhan Oluç held a press conference at the Assembly regarding the avalanche disaster in Van's Bahçesaray district that caused the death of 38 people.

Oluç drew attention to the Elazığ earthquake, avalanche disaster and the plane crash at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, where 3 people died, and said that the government does not seem prepared to face disasters. 

Reminding that 38 people died in the avalanche disaster and there are still people who cannot be reached, Oluç expressed his condolences to those who lost their lives in the plane crash and avalanche disaster.

Oluç emphasized the fact that these three consecutive disasters have showed how the government seems not prepared to face such accidents. 

Oluç added: "If we look at Elazığ earthquake, we see that villages could not be reached for days. Some villages have actually never been reached."

Stating that there are serious allegations regarding the avalanche disaster in Van, Oluç said: "When we come to Van, it is known that even in normal times, it is extremely problematic to travel there in the winter, it is a very difficult route in terms of road."
