HDP Ankara candidates spoke in Ankara yesterday, saying the HDP was the only party that could resolve Turkey's problems. Sırrı Süreya Önder said: "If we are not in parliament they will declare war within two weeks and pit our people against each other."

'They are preparing for war'

Önder also brought up the question of corruption in his speech, saying that there had never been such theft before. He linked AKP leaders' often voiced desire that the HDP fail to pass the ten per cent threshold to the AKP's war policies. "We want a country where there is no war and no bullets. Look what they have done in parliament Three parties have signed up to war. They don't want us in parliament because they want to start a war and pit our children one against the other," he said.

 Önder recalled that the AKP had put up election propaganda in Şırnak boasting they would make war planes. "They say this in Roboski. They are saying that up to now we have bombed you with US-made planes but after this we will bomb you with planes made in Turkey. Whatever next? They are giving people the good news that they are going to be slaughtered. They have lost their marbles," he added.

Call to protect the security of the ballot boxes

Önder said he did not know how they would prevent electoral  irregularities and called on all voters to act as observers.
