One hundred thousand signatures have been collected by the campaign for the freedom of PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan and presented to the Speaker’s Office.
The demands of the women, who staged a march to Ankara last Saturday asking for Ocalan to be freed, have been filed and presented to the Parliamentary Speaker’s Office. Meeting with Parliamentary Deputy Speaker Mehmet Saðlam, BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) Group Vice President Pervin Buldan has conveyed the signatures and files of demands for Ocalan’s freedom to Mr. Saðlam. Buldan listed the demands of women as “an end to military and political operations, ending of the war, beginning of the process of dialogue and negotiation, the prevailing of peace over war”.
