Man gives himself up following attack on DEM Party executive Gün

Four people, including 3 village guards, were wanted in connection with the attack against DEM Party executive Ahmet Gün and his son. Late on Monday night, one of them, a 60-year-old man, surrendered to the gendarmerie.

In the village of Taloka in Uludere (province of Şirnak), Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Şenoba (Sêgirk) town council member and party executive Ahmet Gün and his son Abdurrahim Gün were attacked by armed men on Monday morning. DEM Party member, Ahmet Gün, lost his life, while his son Abdurrahim Gün was injured.

Abdurrahim Gün was first taken to Şırnak State Hospital, but was later transferred to Dicle University Hospital in Amed.

Gün regained consciousness and will have surgery. He is not in a life-threatening situation.

New information about the attack emerged on Monday night. Enver Babat (60), Ömer Yarar, Sıddık Babat and his son Ebubekir Babat are said to have carried out the attack. A search warrant was issued for the 4 people by the gendarmerie, however, they could not be found. Late on Monday night, it was learned that Enver Babat gave himself up to the Gendarmerie to testify.

Enver Babat and Sıddık Babat are village guards. Sıddık Babat's son, Ebubekir Babat, was a village guard before but was expelled from the village guard service.
