One person sent to prison 533 days after Hürmuz Diril disappeared

A person has been arrested in the investigation of Hürmuz Diril, who has been missing for 533 days in Beytuşşebap, Şırnak.

Hürmuz and Şimoni Diril lived in the village of Kovankaya (Mehrî) in Beytüşşebap. The couple was abducted by unknown person or persons on 8 January 2020.

Şimoni Diril's body was found 70 days after he was kidnapped, in the Hezil Stream.

Three people were detained on 20 June as part of the investigation into the abduction.

Among them was Apro Diril, the only person living in the village. Diril was taken to Şırnak Courthouse on Tuesday, 22 June and was sent to prison. The other two people were released on condition of judicial control.

Apro Diril was previously detained within the scope of the same investigation and was released after giving his statement to the police.
