It came out that the ISIS member who carried out the attack in Paris had visited Turkey numerous times and he was even taken in for questioning.
French prosecution issued a statement on the person who attempted to attack the police on the famous Champs-Elysees in Paris.
Paris Chief Prosecutor François Molins held a press statement and announced that the attacker, identified as Adam D., is a French citizen. The police had previously announced the man’s name as Adam Djaziri.
The prosecutor said Djaziri also wanted to go to Syria and had pledged allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
“VISITED TURKEY MANY TIMES”
Molins said Djaziri had visited Turkey many times in the past, and 3 times in 2016. The prosecutor said Djaziri visited Turkey as a metals importer and precious stones salesman and was questioned by Turkish authorities for possessing large amounts of gold, jewels and some 5 thousand Euros during one of his visits.
The French prosecutor also said that Djaziri wanted to go to Syria and pledged allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Molins called the attempt by Djaziri an “act of terror”. He said Djaziri had a Tunisian wife and two children, and that the ammunition found in his vehicle “shows the scope of the terrorist attack that was being planned. If it had been successful, it would have had terrible effects on people’s lives.”
Adam Djaziri died during the attack he attempted on Monday.
