Paris march for Öcalan concluded with a rally

The demonstration ended with a call for strongest participation in the massive rally to be held in Strasbourg on February 15.

The Democratic Kurdish Council of France (CDK-F) and the Kurdish Women’s Movement in France (TJK-F) organised a three-day march in Paris to protest the 21st anniversary of the International Conspiracy which led to the capture in Kenya of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan on 15 February 1999.

The activists submitted dossiers to several institutions on the conspiracy and the isolation imposed on Öcalan.

The third stage of the march kicked off from the Nation Square earlier today. The Communist Party of France Central Committee member Hélèn Bidard joined the activists today and expressed her solidarity.

The march was concluded with a rally at the Republique Square where Paris Democratic Kurdish Community Centre co-chair Necmettin Demiralp addressed the crowd and said the following: “Öcalan is not the leader of the Kurdish people alone. He became the leader of all the oppressed and workers, a fact proved by numerous internationalists going to Rojava and joining the battle there.”

Demiralp called for further actions by the Kurdish people to free Öcalan based on a dignified and free life.

The Kurdish Women’s Movement in France sent a message to the rally condemning the international conspiracy against Öcalan.

The rally ended with a call for strongest participation in the massive rally to be held in Strasbourg on February 15.
