Parliament decision to be taken after consulting jailed MPs

Speaking to bianet following the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Group Meeting in Diyarbakir, BDP Þýrnak MP Hasip Kaplan remarked that the party’s decision to enter the Turkish Parliament (TBMM) will be made after talks with jailed deputies and announced afterwards by the co-chairmen of the party.

Giving information about the group meeting which has been organized on the eve of very important decisions, Hasip Kaplan expressed that the main evaluations made during the meeting were about military operations, arrested deputies, detentions and arrests against the BDP and the decision about going to the parliament or not.

Remarking that the opinions and proposals of the six arrested deputies will also be asked as the process of meeting consists of all BDP and Block deputies, Kaplan added that the party will make

final statements about the main agenda items and going to the parliament about the meetings to be made with arrested deputies.

“The systematical investigations against the party and block officials, conducted against the party and block officials in line with the government’s instructions to prosecutors and the police, have been accelerated in the recent term” noted Kaplan, calling attention to the recent detentions and arrests in Hakkari, Þýrnak, Van, Diyarbakýr, Urfa, Mersin and Adana. Kaplan said;

* As a result of the government’s political directives, the police prepare these files and deliver them to prosecutors. In other words, the executive organ interferes in the judiciary by instructing and directing it.

*We have evaluated all points and we will of course not remain silent in the face of the political-military operations. The party’s co-presidents will soon disclose the road map we will determine.
