Peace Mothers Initiative entered second week

The human shield action of Peace Mothers Initiative has entered into its second week.

While government officials are insistently using words inflaming violence, Peace Mothers continue their act at the border where they as human shields have been protesting against the aerial attacks of the Turkish army in the territory of Southern Kurdistan for one week. While the Initiative blocked the passage of a military convoy for an hour yesterday in Balveren (Gundikê Melê) town of Þýrnak, demonstrators held discussions till late hours at night about “war and peace”. The discussions were followed by the torch march of young demonstrators at late hours in the night.

Reacting to the news on the media saying “They are at the border to see their children, not to ask for peace”, human shields expressed that they are performing their act at the border to stop the tears of mothers and to stop the war.
