People in Raqqa celebrate the Eid in peace

After four years of DAESH terror, people in Raqqa are freely celebrating their traditions today.

People in Raqqa celebrated the Eid Al-Fitr (religious holiday marking the end of Ramadan month) in an environment of peace and calm, after the four years of violence and terror imposed on them by DAESH (ISIS).

After the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) liberated Raqqa from the mercenaries, last year, people could finally celebrate their festivities for the first time this Friday, on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.

After the prayers, people visited the graveyards, as it is custom, reading the Quran in front of graves. Women distributed sweet.

The children of Raqqa also enjoyed the celebration for the Eid: they could cheerfully spend time in the streets, eating the sweets distributed.

Residents in Raqqa stated that after they got rid of DAESH, they started to welcome celebrations in peace and thanks to the struggle and resistance of the SDF fighters they are now able to visit their relatives’ and beloved ones’ graves.

In Raqqa and other occupied territories, the DAESH mercenaries prevented people also from celebrating traditional festivity and traditions.
