A new sit-in have been organized in front of Van Municipality. Demonstrators have been protesting for days against the detention of Peace and Democracy (BDP) executives and mayors of Van and its districts on 7 June.

Protests against the detention of 19 Kurdish politicians continue in Van where people have staged demonstrations and sit-in for the last three days. People are also gathering in front of the Courthouse of Van as of early hours of Saturday morning.

On the other hand, workers of Van Municipality are also protesting against the detentions by not doing the cleaning on streets.
