People of Shaddadi held several events at the Martyrs Square to celebrate the first year anniversary of their town's liberation from ISIS gang gangs.

TEV-DEM (Democratic Society Movement) and Autonomous Administration representatives, opinion leaders and many civilians participated in the celebration.

After a moment of silence, Cizire Canton Internal Affairs Council President Kenan Berekat celebrated the anniversary of Shaddadi's liberation and pointed out that the sacrifices of martyrs enabled the liberation of the region from gang groups. Berekat also emphasized that SDF fighters enabled the region's residents attain democracy and freedom.

TEV-DEM member Cahid Hesen also spoke during the celebration and said “I celebrate this sacred day; the anniversary of Shaddadi's liberation from ISIS cruelty and savagery. All the gains we have made were achieved with the labour and blood of our martyrs.”

After the speeches, civilians celebrated the liberation day with folk dances.
