The operation that the Turkish soldiers attempted to launch on Qertavin Mountain in the rural area of Tutak district of Agrı has been prevented by the local people who flocked to the scene.

Turkish military forces started deploying troops with 3 helicopters and 7 armoured vehicles on Mount Qertavin in Tutak at around 03:00 this morning. The planned operation could not be carried out as local people flocked to the area and stopped the soldiers. The Kocer people living in the area between Patnos, Tutak and Malazgirt immediately went to the area after they noticed the deployment of troops and stopped the soldiers and informed the people in Tutak. Hearing about the operation, many people, including the DBP and HDP executives in Patnos and Tutak, flocked to the operation area.

Upon the arrival of the people, the soldiers had to leave the area, ending the operation, and retreated to the rural area of Malazgirt.

The local people stayed at the scene also after the withdrawal of the soldiers from the area.
