Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) has written an open letter to the international public opinion to highlight the gravity of Iran’s attempt to invade South Kurdistan. In a letter sent to international organizations, PJAK Foreign and International Relation Committee remarked that the main aim of the Iranian aggression is to destabilize Kurdistan regional government through terrorist attacks against KRG and Iraqi government by settling the extreme Islamic organization Ansar Al-Islam in region.of PJAK guerrillas.
The letter, pointed out that the Iranian regime violated its national and international obligations, emphasized that the international public opinion need to monitor the situation. The letter noted that especially the Kurds are the victims of human rights abuses by the Iranian regime. Pointing out that 12 million out of 70 million Iranian population is formed by Kurds, the letter expressed that Kurds are deprived of their freedoms of culture, religion, education, organization, thought and expression, which are guaranteed by the international law.
The letter of PJAK Foreign and International Relation Committee is as follows;
“As a part of its ideological policies against Kurdish people in Iran and Iraq, Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) crossed on 16 July boarders into Iraqi Kurdistan, bombarding Kurdish villages.
At least three Kurdish civilians, including a ten year old child, were killed by shelling the villages in the autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan since the start of the military operation. Eleven other civilians were injured, 35 villages damaged and hundreds of people were displaced.
Islamic regime is asserting that its military offenses are targeting bases controlled by Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK) in Iraqi Kurdistan. However, it is clear that there are political motivations behind the present illegal IRGC incursion and bombardment of Kurdistan regional government territories.
1- Islamic regime is trying to destabilize Kurdistan regional government by smashing PJAK bases and replacing the extreme Islamic organization Ansar Al-Islam in order to launch terrorist attacks against KRG and Iraqi government.
2- Islamic regime is experiencing its most difficult periods internally and externally. Ýnternally it is facing permanent unrest from the antagonists and externally over its nuclear weapon program it has been further isolated by International community. Through such offensive attacks Islamic regime attempting to divers the public opinions to outside its boarders.
3- Islamic regime is very well aware that its turn of internal disorders and uprising will arrive soon after the collapse of Syrian dictator regime, seriously concerned over the possible lose of its main Arab ally in Syria, therefore, it is preparing its armed forces to respond to any possible uprising by the Iranian Nations such as, for instance Kurds, Baloch, Arab, Azari, Turkman.
4- Possible solution of Kurdish question in Turkey peacefully and democratically. Islamic regime is attempting via its military offenses against PJAK and Kurdistan Regional Government to block any possible peaceful solution of Kurdish question in Turkey. Because Islamic regime is of knowledge that solution of Kurdish question in Turkey results to the culmination of its relation with Turkey and that will further isolate Islamic regime internationally.
5- Presence of coalition forces in Iraq restricted regime’s role and control over the Iraqi government. As it’s clear that the USA troops are withdrawing by the end of 2011, Islamic regime, with the aim of complete control over Iraqi territories, is attempting to occupy Qandil Mountains.
6- By dismantling and destroying PJAK Islamic regime trying to weaken Iranian nations struggle.
7- Kurds around the globe are preparing themselves to hold (National Conference) in the near future, Islamic regime through its offensive attacks planning to divide Kurds and Kurdish political organization and prevent establishment of Kurdish National conference.
Free Life party of Kurdistan since its emergence several times publicly and officially made announcement that they do not believe in violence and in 2010 PJAK announced a declaration for the solution of Kurdish question in Iran, which was encompassed of 7 points. However, Islamic regime responded aggressively and brutally by executing 5 PJAK members and resuming its offensive attacks on Kurdish people and PJAK. PJAK is the only organization that can defend Iraqi (KRG) boarders from regimes infiltration and prevent Islamic terrorist from crossing borders with the aim of committing terrorist acts against civilians in Kurdistan Regional Government and rest of Iraq. The terrorist State Iran is attempting to destabilize region completely by supporting terrorism networks regionally and internationally. We believe the key purpose of Islamic regime’s military operations is to achieve the aforementioned goals of Islamic regime in national, regional and international level. PJAK is an excuse for its offensive attacks.”
Condemning the Iranian regime’s attacks against the Kurdish people at the end of the letter, PJAK Foreign and International Relation Committee called on the EU, UN, international human rights organizations and civil society organizations to condemn the attacks of Iran and to demand immediate cessation of illegal military operations against Kurdish people.
