In a written statement, People’s Defense Forces (HPG) Headquarters Command has reported that a common fight will be given by HPG and HRK (Eastern Kurdistan Forces) guerrillas against the attacks of the Iranian army which has launched a new attack on September 2.

The statement noted that the Iranian army has again mounted an attack as of yesterday morning despite knowing about the deployment of the HRK forces in the areas that form the borders of Iran and the Media Defense Forces who were positioned there in line with the change made following the call by KCK Executive Council.

Remarking that this attempt of the Iranian army has once more showed that Iran targets all Kurds and the achievements they gained by paying big prices and making all kinds of self-sacrifice along centuries, it was underlined that these attacks aim to destroy these democratic gains and the spirit of national unity developed in four parts of Kurdistan.

The statement declared to the public that these unjust and illegitimate common attacks of the Iranian and Turkish states against the Kurds and their achievements will be encountered by the great resistance and fight of the HPG guerrillas and HRK forces on the basis of Necessary Defense strategy. ‘As long as the attacks of the Iranian army continue, the HPG will be in a common fight with HRK in all the guerrilla areas’ said the statement.

HPG remarked that the first wave of attacks launched against Media Defense Areas in the morning of Sept. 2 were repulsed by HPG and HRK guerrillas and tens of Iranian soldiers and village guards were killed during the clashes. The statement added that a detailed public declaration will made later about the figures in the areas that have witnessed intense clashes.
