Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoðan has said today that Turkey has no problems with freedom of the press. Indeed, he said, journalists in prison are not 105 but six. Only six, he said, have press identification.
"There are accountants, engineers, office staff, newspaper delivery people on this list," said the prime minister at a Justice and Development Party meeting. "These are made to look like journalists."
In an incredible attempt to distort the truth Erdoðan has apparently decided to go on the offensive claiming that the 105 journalists are in fact not reporters.
