PM Erdoðan met US President Obama

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoðan and US President Barack Obama met before the start of the nuclear summit at the Grand Hyatt Seoul.

The two leaders told a press conference after one-and-a-half-hour-long meeting that the political developments in Syria dominated the agenda of the meeting. President Obama said they are "very much in agreement" that transition to legitimate government in Syria is needed, adding that Erdoðan is an "outstanding" partner.

Erdoðan said he's pleased he and Obama's views were in general overlap on subject of Syria. The Turkish prime minister said: "As people with conscience, we can't remain spectators and have to do something [about Syria] via international law".

Erdoðan also stated that his Iran visit this week will be about Syria and he discussed this with Obama along with developments in Iraq.

"It was a very productive meeting," Erdoðan said and added : "We are particularly delighted to see the US to stand by Turkey in fight against the PKK. Our fight will continue."
