During the political genocide operation in Kars, Turkish police raided the homes of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) and municipal administrators in the early hours of the morning.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Kars Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, co-mayor Şevin Alaca and HDP Provincial co-chair Cengiz Anlı's house were raided. Many people including Alaca and Anlı were detained after the home raids. A total of 19 arrest warrants have been issued.
The HDP members detained were taken to the Provincial Security Directorate accused of being "members of an illegal organization".
