Police attack solidarity action with Leyla Güven in Amed

Police attacked crowd showing solidarity to the HDP Hakkari MP in Amed.

DTK co-chair and HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven has been on hunger strike demanding the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan for 86 days.

People in Amed are promoting daily actions in solidarity with the HDP deputy.

Hundreds of people including HDP deputies Rıdvan Turan, Tülay Hatimoğulları, Semra Güzel, Dersim Dağ, Musa Farisoğulları and Amed Metropolitan Municipality co-mayor candidate Selçuk Mızraklı have walked to Leyla Güven’s home where she continues her fast since her release from prison on the 79th day of hunger strike.

Women shouted: "Leyla Güven is our honor". Güven greeted those who came to support her from the window.

Police attacked the crowd, including the deputies, with pressurized water.

During the attack, people from the surrounding buildings came out to support the activists under attack.

After the police attack, the deputies went to Güven's house and conveyed their solidarity.
