Fifteen people have been taken into custody by police early this morning during a raid at the Democratic Solution Tent. The Tent had been put up in the Güneþ area. The operation was carried out by some thousand police officers and special squads. The police destroyed what was in the tent like chairs and tables and then went on to detain 15 people.
The Democratic Solution Tents are part of the civil disobedience initiatives carried out by Kurds and promoted by BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) and DTK (Democratic Society Congress). The people with this initiatives are underlining their four demands: rights to education in their mother tongue, an end to the military and political operations against Kurdish people, the release of political prisoners and the lowering of the 10 percent election threshold.
