Riot police have blocked the ways to the central Kızılay Square early morning before the funeral ceremony of Ethem Sarısülük, 26, who died late Wednesday after a policeman shot him on the head during the first days of protests in Ankara, on June 1.

Thousands of policemen were deployed in the area, denying permission to the large mass marching towards the square.

Police attacked the people with intense tear gas and pressure water which -people in the area say- consists of some kind of acid that burns the skin and causes pain.

Police has once again started to attack people with water cannons and tear gas, also targeting the press workers covering the clashes in the area. Tension is quite high.
