Police attacks people marching to Zülküf Gezen’s grave in Amed

The Turkish state continues its repression against the people claiming the martyrs of Kurdish people.

Turkish police attacked people who wanted to visit Zülküf Gezen’s grave after the Newroz celebration which was attended by tens of thousands. Political prisoner Gezen, jailed in the western Turkish province of Tekirdağ, has ended his life 4 days ago in protest at the isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

This year’s Newroz was organised under the motto “We will definitely win and break the isolation”.

The people wanting to visit Gezen’s grave in Yeniköy Cemetery were attacked by the police with tear gas and water cannon at the entrance of the graveyard.
