A citizen singing in Kurdish on the Old State Hospital Street in Van was subjected to a General Information Scan (GBT) by the police. The man, who did not give his identity card was beaten and taken into custody. Shopkeepers who reacted to the beating were also detained.
In the footage taken by citizens who were nearby, the police can be seen handcuffing the man on his back and beating him for minutes.
The people detained on the grounds that they reacted to police violence, were taken to the Van Provincial Security Directorate.
