Police raided several houses in Amed this morning. Sur Municipality co-mayor Cemal Özdemir, who had been previously replaced by a trustee, was taken into custody. So was health workers Sevgül Tekin, Osman Balta, Cevat Inan and Hayrettin Karayılan who were dismissed by Decree Law.

The reason for the arrest could not be learned and the five detained people were taken to the Provincial Security Directorate.
