Police take at least 31 people into custody in Istanbul and Izmir

At least 31 people were taken into custody in political genocide operations in Istanbul and Izmir. The house raids were carried out on the grounds of the protests against the usurpation attempt in Van.

At least 15 people, including Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Party Assembly (PM) Member Ünal Yusufoğlu, Marmara Detainees and Convict Families and Solidarity Association (MATUHAYDER) executives and many party members, were taken into custody during house raids in Istanbul. While the detainees were taken to the Istanbul Police Department in Fatih, a decision was made to restrict access to lawyers for 24 hours.
