Police terror leaves another dead in Van
A demonstrator who was shot with a real bullet fired by police during recent Kobanê protests in Van has died today.
Yunus Aktaş had been shot by police while joining a demo in solidarity with Kobanê in the Süphan neighborhood on 9 October. Aktaş who has been under treatment after suffering a critical injury in the attack has passed away in a Van hospital today, rising the toll of deaths caused by state violence in Van to 2.
31 people have died, according to official figures released yesterday, during the most recent protests sparked by the cooperation between the inhumane ISIS gangs and the ruling AKP regime following anti-Kurd and freedom-enemy policies. The death toll continues to rise as more news of deaths are coming through every day.
During a speech Friday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan prompted security forces to continue the crackdown on demonstrators protesting the AKP-ISIS cooperation and voicing support in solidarity with Kobanê, saying; “It is no more possible for our police and soldiers to prevent this thing with shields. They will be doing what is needed to be done.”
