Power cut in Suruç, was it for ISIS?

ANHA News Agency has reported that the electricity supply was cut in Suruç district of Urfa at the border across from Kobanê just before the attacks by ISIS gangs on Kobanê this morning.

Suspicions arose about the power cut being a state plan to prepare the ground for ISIS attacks. The electricity was also cut in the region during the counting of the votes in the local elections last March.

It has emerged that Suruç Electricity Unit administrators told workers that the electricity supply would be cut in the morning between 04:00-05:00 and said “the information came from above”.

The ISIS gangs launched an attack on Kobanê from around the TMO building within the Turkish border at 05:00 and exploded two bomb laden vehicles at the Mürşitpınar border gate. These events raised suspicions about the Turkish state’s involvement in the attacks.

Starting from the early morning, Turkish soldiers in armoured vehicles were active while the ISIS gangs were preparing the attack.

An administrator, who asked for anonymity, said the electricity was cut to render ISIS gangs imperceptible and the preparation of the Turkish troops was also for that purpose.

This morning at 05:00, a bomb laden vehicle reached the Mürşitpınar border gate coming from the Turkish side of the border and exploded at the gate while crossing into Kobanê. YPG executives also reported that the ISIS gangs had launched an attack this morning on Kobanê and the border gate from the Turkish side, emplaced near the wheat silos belonging to the state organization Soil Products Office (TMO).

The governor of Urfa admitted that the ISIS gangs were emplaced on the Turkish side of the border during his meeting with the HDP deputy İbrahim Ayhan.

It has been reported that the power cut in Suruç continues as the authorities claim that the transformer will be changed.
