"Prisoner Gazette", which was designed by Turkish Journalists Union (TGC) with a view to July 24, when the first reaction was given against censorship in Turkish press, and consists of the writings of journalists in prison, is published tomorrow with the headline "Resistance against Cencorship".
"Prisoner Gazette" is published tomorrow, at the 103rd anniversary of the first reaction given by journalists against censorship in the press on July 24, 1908 in the period of Sultan Abdulhamit. The gazette will consist of 12 pages of the writings by 39 arrested and convicted journalists and a guest writer. With a leading article written by TGS Chairman Ercan Ýpekçi, the gazette will meet readers as a free supplement of Evrensel and Birgün journals in all Turkey, of the Cumhuriyet journal in Ankara and neighboring provinces and of the local Çanakkale Olay newspaper in Çanakkale.
The gazette, which will also be sent to the journalists in prison, will be made available at Dolmabahçe Palace on July 24 to be distributed to the guests of Freedom of Press award ceremony by Turkish Journalists Union (TGC).
The arrested and convicted journalists writing in tomorrows gazette are as follows; Bedri Adanýr, Nedim Þener, Müyesser Yýldýz, Vedat Kurþun, Ahmet Þýk, Deniz Yýldýrým, Barýþ Pehlivan, Tuncay Özkan, Soner Yalçýn, Füsun Erdoðan, Barýþ Terkoðlu, Suzan Zengin, Sedat Þenoðlu, Musa Kurt, Barýþ Açýkel, Ali Buluþ, Miktat Algül, Mustafa Gök, Seyithan Akyüz, Faysal Tunç, Rohat Emekçi, Kaan Ünsal, Fazýl Duygun, Bayram Namaz, Mehmet Yeþiltepe, Hatice Duman, Halit Güdenoðlu, Ozan Kýlýnç, Cihan Gün, Murat Ýlhan, Baha Okar, Sait Çakýr, Mehmet Karabaþ, Sinan Aygül, Kadri Kaya, Erol Zavar, Hamdiye Çiftçi, Ahmet Birsin ve Kenan Karavil.
