Necmettin Tekin, a prisoner jailed in Siirt E-Type Closed Prison, has announced that he is beginning an indefinite hunger strike in an effort to stop the ongoing conflict.

In a letter to the President of Parliament, Tekin stated that "no one has the right to politicize people's deaths, this only brings more deaths." He also said that all political parties must work together to solve the problems that are causing the conflict.
